Teletherapy offers treatment provided by a licensed and certified psychologist or therapist through a secure audio or video connection, rather than in person. Clients can interact with their psychologist the same way they do during in-person sessions, just from a remote location. Communication may also occur via telephone, text message, or a protected client portal to transfer important information.
Teletherapy might seem new to some, but it’s been used for awhile (even before COVID-19). If you are a busy person (e.g., working parent, corporate executive, always “on-the-go”), are someone who prefers the comfort of their own space, has challenges commuting due to traffic or health limitations, or just want the feel of a more exclusive service free from waiting rooms, then teletherapy might be right for you! For more information, take a look at this brief read that describes 14 Benefits of Teletherapy for Clients. -

Whether you are new to therapy or seeking support for a new situation, your care will be tailored based on what brings you to therapy, your lifestyle, and coping style. Each client will be required to complete a Health & Wellness Evaluation as the initial session which begins the conversation. In this session, we take a holistic view of how you think, feel, and perceive challenges in your life. Specific attention is given to your present situation, overall health, coping skills, and cultural worldview. During this session, we will begin to develop our relationship and discuss a treatment plan (or the road map of care). Follow-up sessions will include targeted interventions to help you actualize your goals (or destination stops along the journey). Treatment duration is specific to each client and will depend on factors such as symptom severity, readiness for change, motivation to practice new skills outside of session, and a desire for ongoing therapeutic support.

While I do not accept insurance, I am happy to provide all the receipts (or a “super bill”) and documentation you would need to submit to your insurance carrier for reimbursement. Insurance providers often differ in their reimbursement policies, so it is important to review your coverage carefully and consult with your insurer to address any questions. For more information, please see the Rates & Policies page.

Appointments canceled with less than a 24-hour notice may result in a $100 Late Cancellation Fee. There is a 10-minute grace period for late attendance after the start of your scheduled session. Arrival after that time will be considered a No Show, and you will be charged the full session rate. Please refer to the Rates & Policies page for additional information.

No, I am not a prescribing psychologist. However, if you would like to pursue medication in addition to therapy, we can discuss options that may work for you with consideration of insurance coverage, preference, referral type, and your overall goals.
